Capital Institute of physical education is a sports college in Beijing. It is located in Haidian District, Beijing, with ZhongGuanCun science and Technology Park in the West and Jimen tobacco tree scenic area in the East.Founded in 1956, the school was formerly known as "Beijing Sports School". In 1960, it was transformed into "Beijing Normal University of physical education". In 2000, it is now known as "Capital Institute of physical education". In 2003, it obtained the right to grant doctoral and master degree programs, and is the receiving college of Chinese government scholarship for international students in China.As of May 2020, the university is divided into the headquarters campus, North Campus and Fenghuangling campus, covering an area of 267.47 mu, 85 mu for teaching, scientific research and auxiliary rooms, 57 mu for various indoor stadiums and gymnasiums, 51 mu for sports venues, 417000 books in the library; there are 5 secondary colleges, 13 undergraduate majors, 2 master's degree subjects, 4 master's degree subjects and 1 master's degree subject There are 498 in-service staff and 2540 undergraduates.
