Beijing City University, located in Beijing, is a comprehensive university approved by the Ministry of education. It has the qualification of issuing graduate and undergraduate degree recognized by the state, and holds secondary vocational and higher vocational education. It has been selected into the national and Beijing Municipal college students' innovation and entrepreneurship training program.Beijing City University was founded in 1984, the first new university in the new China to implement the public run private system. It was called Haidian's University of study. It was upgraded to an undergraduate institution in 2003 and renamed "Beijing City University". In 2011, it became the first batch of private universities with the qualification of postgraduate enrollment in China.As of June 2015, Beijing City University has four campuses: Zhongguancun campus, aerospace city campus, University City Campus and Shunyi Yangzhen campus, covering an area of about 1250 mu, with a total value of 230 million yuan of teaching equipment; more than 2.15 million books, more than 100 experimental and training rooms; more than 100 majors in science and engineering, grammar, finance and economics, art, foreign language, management, medicine and other disciplines. According to the official website of the University in April 2019, the university has 11 academic departments, 4 master's degree authorization points (including 4 professional fields of master of Arts) in social work, public administration, Chinese pharmacy and art, and master's education projects in Sino foreign cooperation in running schools. There are more than 20000 full-time students and more than 2000 teaching staff.
