Tianjin Foreign Studies University (TFSU), located in Tianjin, is a key university of Tianjin Municipality with a complete range of major foreign languages, coordinated development of literature, economics, management, law, education, art, engineering and other disciplines. It is the recipient of Chinese government scholarship for international students in China.One of the predecessor of Tianjin Foreign Studies University is Tianjin Business University, which was founded in 1921. Its main predecessor is Qinhuangdao foreign language college, which was established in 1964. Later, it was renamed Hebei foreign language college and Tianjin Foreign Language College. In 1974, the school was restored and renamed as Tianjin Foreign Studies University, which was later renamed as Tianjin Foreign Studies University with the approval of the Ministry of education.As of July 2019, the university has two campuses, Wudao and Binhai, covering a total area of 1040.06 mu, with a total value of 188.6917 million yuan of teaching and scientific research equipment assets; it has 15 teaching units, 57 undergraduate majors, 1 doctoral talent training project serving the special needs of the country, 7 first level disciplines authorized by master's degree, 29 second level disciplines authorized by master's degree, and 6 Master's majors Authorized categories (covering 20 authorized directions); nearly 1000 teaching staff, more than 10000 full-time undergraduates and postgraduates.
