Xingtai university is a full-time regular undergraduate college jointly built by provinces and cities, with the city as the main body. The school was founded in 1910 (the second year of Xuantong of the Qing Dynasty). In 1912, it was renamed Zhili fourth Junior Normal School, and later renamed Hebei fourth normal school, Xingtai normal school, etc. In 1984, it was upgraded to Xingtai teachers college. In March 1996, it merged with the former Xingtai Institute of education and Xingtai economic management cadre school to establish Xingtai teachers college. In March 2002, it was upgraded to Xingtai university with the approval of the Ministry of education. In 2016, the University became the provincial master project construction unit in Hebei Province.As of May 2019, the school has a total area of 943 mu, a total construction area of about 301 thousand square meters, and a total value of about 136 million yuan of teaching and scientific research equipment. There are more than 1200 teaching staff and more than 18000 full-time students in the school. The school has 20 secondary colleges (departments) and 52 undergraduate majors.
