North China University of science and technology, located in Yanjiao high tech Industrial Development Zone, Hebei Province, is a university directly under the Ministry of emergency management of the people's Republic of China. It has been selected into the "excellent engineer education and training plan" and "new engineering research and practice project" of the Ministry of education It is a member of CDIO Engineering Education Alliance and a member of UNESCO China Entrepreneurship Education Alliance. The school and China Coal Mine Safety Technology Training Center implement the management system of "one set of institutions, two brands".The predecessor of the school is the branch of Beijing Coal Management Cadre College built by the Ministry of coal industry of the people's Republic of China in 1984; in 1993, it was restructured and renamed as North China Mining College, which enrolls students nationwide; in 2002, it was upgraded to an ordinary undergraduate college and renamed as North China Institute of science and technology.According to the official website of the University in December 2019, the University covers an area of 800 mu, with a building area of 444000 square meters, a total fixed asset value of 1178.24 million yuan, and a collection of more than 1.3 million paper books. There are 14 Colleges (departments) and 54 undergraduate majors (as of March 2020). There are more than 900 teachers and nearly 17000 full-time students (including 47 foreign students).
