It was originally affiliated to the Ministry of mechanical industry of the people's Republic of China. Since 1998, it has been jointly built by the central and local governments and mainly managed by Liaoning Province.The university has the right to confer bachelor's degree, master's degree and doctor's degree. There are four mobile stations for postdoctoral research. At present, there are 5 first-class disciplines authorized by doctoral degree, 20 first-class disciplines authorized by master's degree and 5 professional degree categories. The school has 1313 teachers, including 2 academicians, 186 professors and 165 doctoral supervisors. At present, there are 18415 undergraduates, 3070 postgraduates and 342 doctoral students.
