Liaoning University of engineering and technology, formerly known as Fuxin Institute of mining and technology, was founded in 1949. In the early 1960s, it became the only coal University in Northeast China. It was one of the two national key universities under the former Ministry of coal industry. It was known as "Huangpu Military Academy" in the coal industry.The university is jointly built by Liaoning provincial government and emergency management department. It has been selected into the National College Students' innovative experimental program implementation universities, National Graduates' typical employment experience universities, excellent engineer education and training program universities, Chinese government scholarship to receive foreign students in China universities, key construction universities of basic ability construction project in central and western universities, member units of CDIO Engineering Education Alliance, and all universities China's first batch of model universities to deepen the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education, and the top 50 universities in China.According to the official website of the school in September 2019, the school has Zhonghua Road Campus of Fuxin campus, Yulong campus and Longwan campus of Huludao campus, covering an area of 4240 mu, of which Fuxin campus covers an area of 1900 mu, Huludao campus covers an area of 2340 mu, with a building area of 730000 square meters; three libraries with a building area of 45000 square meters are distributed in three campuses; and there are seven first-class discipline doctoral degree authorization points There are 27 doctoral degree authorization points in secondary disciplines, 16 master's degree authorization points in primary disciplines and 60 master's degree authorization points; there are 1484 full-time teachers and 32000 registered students, including 26000 full-time doctoral, master's, undergraduate and international students.
