Dalian Polytechnic University, located in Dalian City, Liaoning Province, is a provincial university. It has been selected as a member unit of CDIO Engineering Education Alliance, including excellent engineer education and training plan, innovation ability improvement plan of colleges and universities, excellent agriculture and forestry talents education and training plan.Founded in 1958, Dalian Institute of light industry is one of the first four light industry colleges in China. It was originally under the Ministry of light industry and was under the management of Liaoning Province in 1998.As of July 2014, the school has a total area of 1064 mu, a total construction area of 480000 square meters, and a collection of 592000 paper books; as of the end of 2006, the total value of teaching and research equipment is 89.59 million yuan. There are nearly 20000 full-time students, including 1445 graduate students, and nearly 400 foreign students are enrolled every year.
