Heilongjiang Bayi Agricultural University University, abbreviated as Bayi Agricultural University (hbau), is a full-time ordinary university in Heilongjiang Province, with a complete education system to train bachelor, master and doctor. It is one of the first batch of Pilot Universities in the reform of "excellent agriculture and forestry talents education and training plan", a National University of "basic ability construction project of universities in central and Western China", and a national university with typical employment experience for graduates. The school was founded in 1958 by General Wang Zhen, the former vice president of the state and then Minister of the Ministry of agriculture and reclamation. He was also the first president of the school. In 1973, the school was under the management of Heilongjiang Province by the Ministry of land reclamation. The school was originally located in Peide Town, Mishan City, Heilongjiang Province. With the approval of the provincial government, the school moved to Daqing high tech Development Zone in October 2003.As of March 2018, the school has a total area of 1.204 million square meters, a construction area of 380000 square meters, and a total fixed assets value of 1.16 billion yuan. There are 47 undergraduate majors, 2 first-class disciplines authorized by doctoral degree and 8 first-class disciplines authorized by master degree. It has enrolled more than 14600 full-time undergraduates and 1700 graduate students from 23 provinces (municipalities directly under the central government and autonomous regions).
