Nanjing University of the Arts Arts, abbreviated as "Nanyi", was born in 1912. It is the largest comprehensive art college in China. It is the earliest art college established independently in China and continues to the present. In 1930, it was renamed Shanghai Academy of fine arts; in 1922, Yan Wenliang founded Suzhou Academy of fine arts; in 1952, the two colleges merged with the fine Arts and music departments of the Art Department of Shandong University to form the Chinese Academy of fine arts East art college, located in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province.
