Sanjiang University, located in Nanjing City, was founded in 1992. It is a full-time regular undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of education. It is the experimental zone of comprehensive reform of higher education in Jiangsu Province, the pilot University of "establishing modern university system" project in Jiangsu Province, and the construction site of authorized unit of master's degree graduate students in Jiangsu Province.The name of Sanjiang university can be traced back to "Sanjiang normal school" in 1902. In 1992, four retired and retiring professors and cadres from Southeast University and Nanjing University initiated and founded "Sanjiang University". In April 1995, Sanjiang University was officially established with the approval of the former State Education Commission. In February 2002, Sanjiang University was upgraded to an undergraduate university with the approval of the Ministry of education. In 2017, the University became a provincial master project construction unit in Jiangsu Province.As of July 2019, Sanjiang university has five campuses, covering an area of 1030.4 mu, with a building area of 4747000 square meters, teaching and administrative rooms of 207500 square meters, student dormitories of 143700 square meters, 13 secondary colleges, 49 undergraduate majors, 569 full-time teachers and 21306 full-time undergraduate students.
