Zhejiang Communication University of Zhejiang is a University jointly built by the State Administration of radio and television of the people's Republic of China and the people's Government of Zhejiang Province. It is a National University for the implementation of innovation and entrepreneurship training program for college students and a pilot demonstration school for application-oriented construction in Zhejiang Province.The predecessor of the school is Zhejiang Radio and Television College, which was formed by the merger of Zhejiang Radio and Television College (founded in 1978) and Zhejiang Radio and Television College (founded in 1984) in 2000. In 2004, the college officially changed its name to Zhejiang Media College.As of November 2019, Xiasha and Tongxiang campuses of the college cover a total area of 1305 mu, with a total construction area of 566000 square meters; there are 15 secondary colleges (departments), 41 undergraduate majors; there is one professional master's degree authorization point; there are 12 research institutions at or above the provincial level; there are 1284 teaching staff; there are more than 13000 full-time undergraduates and 220 graduate students; there are 49 laboratories; and the library has a large collection There are more than 1.585 million audio-visual books and 1.535 million electronic books.
