Jinhua Vocational and technical college is located in Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province. It is a public full-time ordinary college approved by the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China in 1998. It is a local vocational college of Jinhua City, a National Demonstrative Vocational College, a pilot college of "excellent doctor education and training plan" of the Ministry of education, a key vocational college in Zhejiang Province, and a "Zhejiang University" in Zhejiang Vocational field.Its predecessor is Jinhua Branch of Zhejiang University of technology established in 1994 and Jinhua Institute of technology approved by Zhejiang Provincial People's government. In 1998, it was established with the approval of the Ministry of education, and its nature is private. From the preparation to 2000, Zhejiang agricultural machinery school, Jinhua School of trade and economics, Jinhua agricultural school, Jinhua normal school, Yiwu normal school, Jinhua health school and other six schools were merged one after another. In 2003, the school became public. Zhejiang Province has become the first batch of four-year talent training pilot colleges in 2015.As of January 2017, there are more than 24000 full-time students, covering an area of 2216 mu, with a construction area of 690000 square meters and fixed assets of 1.21 billion yuan; the total value of teaching equipment is 233 million yuan, with a collection of nearly 1.8 million books; there are 13 secondary colleges and 60 specialties; and Jinhua people's Hospital, an affiliated hospital. In December 2019, it was listed as the first class of high-level school construction units (a file) of high-level vocational schools and professional construction plan construction units with Chinese characteristics (double high plan) by the Ministry of education and the Ministry of finance.
