Jiangxi Agricultural University University, located in Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, is a University jointly built by the Ministry of agriculture and rural areas of the people's Republic of China, the State Forestry and grassland administration of the people's Republic of China and the people's Government of Jiangxi Province. It is a national "Midwest university basic capacity construction project" University and a first-class discipline construction university in Jiangxi Province. It has been selected as one of the first batch of national excellent agriculture and forestry talents education and training plans, national "2011 plan" and national "2011 plan" National College Students' cultural quality education base, National College Students' innovation and entrepreneurship training plan, Jiangxi excellent engineer education and training plan; with the right to confer doctor's degree, it is one of the first batch of units with the right to confer bachelor's degree and master's degree in China, and it is the first university to carry out postgraduate education in Jiangxi Province.The school was founded in 1905 and renamed Jiangxi higher agricultural school in 1908. Undergraduate education began in National Chung Cheng University founded in 1940 and renamed Nanchang University in 1949. Jiangxi Agricultural College was established in 1952. Jiangxi Communist Labor University was founded in 1958 and renamed Jiangxi Communist Labor University in 1968. In 1969, Jiangxi Agricultural University and Jiangxi Communist Labor University were merged and renamed Jiangxi Agricultural University in November 1980.As of September 2018, the university has a total area of 16000 mu, 17 colleges and 58 undergraduate majors, 6 first-class doctoral programs and 20 first-class master programs, 1700 in-service staff and 28000 full-time students (including independent colleges).
