Ocean University of China China, OUC, referred to as China Haida, Haida, is located in Qingdao, Shandong Province. It is a national key university directly under the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China. It is a national "world-class university construction university" (Class A), "985 Project" and "211 Project" key construction university. It has been selected into "2011 plan", "111 plan", excellent engineer education and training plan, and excellent agriculture and forestry talents education plan It is a member of China EU Elite University Alliance, Arctic University, international Antarctic college and International Maritime University Alliance, and one of the first batch of doctoral and master degree awarding units in China.The predecessor of the school is the private Qingdao University founded in 1924. In 1930, national Qingdao University was established on the basis of Shandong provincial university and private Qingdao University. After going through the period of national Shandong University and Shandong University, the main body of Shandong University moved to Jinan in 1958. Based on the Department of Oceanography, Department of fisheries, Department of Geology and Department of biology, Shandong Ocean University was established in March 1959. In 1960, it was designated as one of the 13 key comprehensive universities in China. In 1988, it was renamed Qingdao Ocean University. In 2002, it was renamed Ocean University of China.As of December 2019, the university has three campuses: Laoshan, Yushan and Fushan. Huangdao campus of Ocean University of China, Shenzhen Research Institute of Ocean University of China and Sanya graduate school are under construction. There are 19 colleges and one basic teaching center. There are 3678 faculty members, 5 academicians of Chinese Academy of Sciences and 9 academicians of Chinese Academy of engineering. There are more than 27300 full-time students, including more than 15000 undergraduates There are more than 10400 masters and 1900 doctorates, and 9 disciplines have entered the top 1% of the ESI global research institutions. In the Academic Ranking of world universities in 2017, the University ranks 301-400 in the world.
