Shandong Jianzhu University, located in Jinan City, Shandong Province, is a multidisciplinary university with engineering as the main subject, civil engineering as the characteristic, engineering, management, grammar, agronomy as the interdisciplinary penetration and coordinated development. The university is a University jointly built by the people's Government of Shandong Province and the Ministry of housing and urban rural development of the people's Republic of China, a university under the excellent engineer education and training program of the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China, a university under the doctoral talent training program serving the special needs of the country, one of the first batch of construction universities under the national "integration of industry and education" project, and one of the first batch of famous universities with application-oriented talent training characteristics in Shandong Province.The school was founded in 1956. Its predecessor was Jinan urban construction engineering school. It was one of the ten civil engineering schools built by the Ministry of urban construction in China. In 1958, it was upgraded to undergraduate college and renamed as Shandong Institute of architecture; after several changes, it was named as Shandong Institute of architecture and Engineering in 1978; from 1998 to 2001, the former Shandong mechanical industry school, Shandong geology school and Shandong School of architecture and engineering were merged into Shandong Institute of architecture and engineering; in 2006, it was renamed as Shandong Jianzhu University with the approval of the Ministry of education. In 2017, the University became a provincial doctoral project construction unit in Shandong Province.As of May 2019, the school has two campuses, namely the new campus and Heping campus, covering an area of 2400 Mu and a building area of 660000 square meters. The total value of teaching and scientific research instruments and equipment is 358.9027 million yuan, with a collection of more than 4.97 million books. The university has 19 colleges and 4 research institutes, 58 undergraduate majors, 1 postdoctoral research mobile station, 1 doctoral talent training project, 17 first-class master degree programs, 9 professional degree categories, and 62 second-class master degree programs, with master's degree promotion and exemption qualifications. The school has 1998 teaching staff, including 1567 full-time teachers, 888 senior staff, 38 doctoral supervisors and 700 master supervisors. The school enrolls students from 30 provinces (cities, autonomous regions) in China, with more than 27000 full-time students.
