Shandong University of Technology Technology (SDUT) is a multidisciplinary University jointly built by the State Administration of science, technology and industry for national defense and the people's Government of Shandong Province. It is a key university of science and Engineering in Shandong Province. It has the qualification of promoting and exempting postgraduates. In 1956, Jinan Agricultural Mechanization School of Shandong Province was founded; in 1958, it was upgraded to Shandong agricultural mechanization college; in 1990, it was renamed Shandong Engineering College. In 1998, Shandong Institute of building materials industry, Zibo University, Zibo Teachers College, Zibo workers University, Zibo radio and Television University and other universities were established as Zibo college. In 2002, Shandong University of engineering and Zibo University merged into Shandong University of technology.As of March 2020, the school covers an area of 2.4 million square meters, with a building area of 1.0736 million square meters, a sports ground area of 1.328 million square meters, 335 network multimedia classrooms, 3.33 million books in the library, and a total value of 589 million yuan in teaching and scientific research equipment. It has 26 colleges and 20 university level research institutes, 3 post doctoral research mobile stations, and 4 doctoral degree authorized first-class disciplines (covering 18 authorized secondary disciplines), 23 authorized primary disciplines of master's degree, 14 authorized categories of master's professional degree, 69 undergraduate enrollment majors, covering 9 disciplines; there are 2179 teachers, more than 34000 full-time undergraduate students and more than 3700 graduate students.
