Shandong University of Finance and economics, located in Jinan City, Shandong Province, is a University jointly established by the people's Government of Shandong Province, the Ministry of finance of the people's Republic of China and the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China.The predecessor of the university is Shandong University of Finance and economics founded in 1952 and Shandong University of Finance founded in 1986; in 1978, Shandong University of Finance and economics was renamed Shandong University of economics; on July 4, 2011, the former Shandong University of economics and the former Shandong University of Finance and economics merged to build Shandong University of Finance and economics; on June 9, 2012, Shandong University of Finance and economics was officially established.As of April 2019, the university has five campuses, covering an area of 4064 mu, with a building area of 1192000 square meters. The total value of teaching and scientific research equipment is 230 million yuan. There are 24 teaching colleges (departments), 60 undergraduate majors, 4 first-class doctoral degree authorization points, 10 first-class master degree authorization points, 15 master degree categories, and 1 full-time teacher 939, including 33000 full-time undergraduates and postgraduates.
