Yantai University (Yantai) Located in Yantai City, Shandong Province, the university is a key comprehensive university of Shandong Province, a construction unit of "first-class disciplines" in Shandong Province, a key construction University of Shandong characteristic famous university project, and a member of CDIO Engineering Education Alliance. It has been selected into the excellent legal talent education and training plan and excellent engineer education and training plan. It is a coastal university with the shortest distance from the sea and the longest coastline in China. The university has the enrollment qualification of doctoral, master and undergraduate students, the right to confer corresponding degrees and the enrollment qualification of postdoctoral researchers.Founded in July 1984, under the care and guidance of former Vice Premier Wan Li and honorary president Zhang Chengxian, and with the special approval of the former State Education Commission, Peking University and Tsinghua University jointly selected teaching, scientific research and management backbones to assist in the construction, and incorporated the support to Yantai University into the long-term work plan. In 1990, the "Committee of Peking University and Tsinghua University supporting the construction of Yantai University" was established to regularly study and guide the teaching, scientific research, discipline construction, reform and development of Yantai University, so that Yantai University has a higher starting point and a high level of development.At present, the university has 22 Colleges (departments), 65 research institutes and 66 undergraduate majors, covering 10 disciplines such as arts, science, engineering, law, agriculture, medicine, economy, management, education and art. The school covers an area of 1.4 million square meters, a building area of 1.0198 million square meters, a library area of 43800 square meters, and a collection of more than 2.09 million printed books.
