Yangtze University Jingzhou University, located in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, is a large-scale comprehensive university with comprehensive disciplines in Hubei Province. Hubei Provincial Department of education and Jingzhou City jointly built universities, and national demonstration universities for deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform.Approved by the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China in April 2003, Changjiang University was formed by the merger of the former Jianghan Petroleum Institute, Hubei Agricultural University, Jingzhou Normal University and Hubei Medical College for health workers. The predecessor of the former Jianghan Petroleum Institute was Beijing Petroleum Industry College founded in 1950. In 1978, it began to hold general undergraduate education and was subordinate to China National Petroleum Corporation. Since 2000, it has been jointly built by the central and local governments and transferred to Hubei Province for management.
