Wuchang University of technology, located in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, is a full-time general undergraduate university with engineering and management as the main subject and multi-disciplinary development approved by the Ministry of education. It has been selected into the "2011 plan of Hubei Province".The school began in 1997 with Hubei industry and trade college. In 1999, Hubei Institute of industry and trade cooperated with Wuhan University of science and technology to establish "Wuhan University of science and technology higher vocational and Technical College (industry and trade campus)", which mainly implements higher vocational and technical education. In September 2000, the school built a new campus. In February 2004, the school was an independent college. In May 2011, the branch was transferred to Wuchang Institute of technology, and the Central South Branch of Wuhan University of science and technology was abolished.As of April 2020, the school covers an area of 828100 square meters, with a building area of 403000 square meters, a paper collection of 1.5625 million books, 2.176 million e-books, 125 Chinese and foreign electronic resources databases; there are 12 colleges, 47 undergraduate majors and 10 junior college enrollment majors; there are 880 teachers and more than 15000 students.
