Changsha University University, referred to as "grow up", is a full-time ordinary undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China. It implements the system of co construction and co management of provinces and cities, with Changsha City as the main management. It is a "double first-class" high-level application characteristic construction University in Hunan Province. It has been selected into the first batch of new engineering research and practice projects of the Ministry of education and the 2011 plan of Hunan Province The project of the integration of industry and education for practical undergraduates is planned to be a base for practical education, innovation and entrepreneurship in Colleges and universities all over the country.Changsha University originated from the teacher training class of Changsha Revolutionary Committee in 1970, the junior college class of Xiangjiang normal school in 1978, Changsha basic university in 1979 and Changsha University in 1983. In 1986, Changsha basic University of Hunan Province was renamed Changsha Vocational and Technical Teachers College. In 1994, Changsha Xiangjiang normal school was merged into Changsha Vocational and Technical Normal College; in 1996, Changsha Vocational and technical normal college was merged into Changsha University. In 2004, Changsha University was upgraded to an undergraduate and renamed Changsha University.As of October 2019, the school covers an area of about 1968 mu, with a building area of about 376400 square meters, a total value of about 200 million yuan of teaching and research equipment, a collection of 1.3857 million books, 14661 full-time students, 1118 teaching staff, including 885 full-time teachers, 15 Teaching Colleges (departments) and 46 undergraduate majors.
