Hunan International Economics University, located in Changsha City, Hunan Province, is a private undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of education.The former college was founded in 1997 as Xiangnan College of Arts and Sciences, and changed its name to Hunan Foreign Economics College in 1998. In 2005, with the approval of the Ministry of education and Hunan Provincial People's government, the college was upgraded to an undergraduate college.According to the official website of the University in August 2019, the campus area of the university is 956000 square meters, with a building area of 485300 square meters; there are 1278 teaching staff and 28000 full-time students; there are 10 secondary colleges, with 49 undergraduate majors and 14 Higher Vocational Majors.
