South China Normal University (SCNU), with its headquarters in Guangzhou, is a University jointly built by the people's Government of Guangdong Province and the Ministry of education. It is one of the first batch of national "world-class discipline construction universities" and national "211 Project" key construction universities. It has been selected into the national "111 plan", "excellent teacher training plan" and "excellent teacher training plan" "National training program", national innovation and entrepreneurship training program for college students, national construction of high-level university public postgraduate program, key universities of Guangdong Province, overall construction universities of high-level universities of Guangdong Province, receiving universities of Chinese government scholarship for international students in China, national cultural quality education base for college students, etc. are the governing units of China Joint Council of artificial intelligence education.South China Normal University was founded in 1933, formerly known as the normal college of Guangdong Yiqin University; in 1935, it was renamed as the College of education of Yiqin University; in 1938, it was renamed as Guangdong Provincial College of education; in 1939, it was renamed as Guangdong Provincial College of Arts and Sciences; in 1950, it was renamed as Guangdong Provincial College of Arts and Sciences. In October 1951, with the approval of the Ministry of education of the Central South military and political Commission, the normal college of National Sun Yat sen University and the Department of education of private South China United University were merged into South China Normal College. In 1952, the Russian Department of Nanfang University, the Education Department of private Lingnan University, the national Hainan Normal University, the Education Department of national Guangxi University, the geography specialty of history and Geography Department of Hunan University, the geography specialty of normal Department of national Nanchang University and Hainan Normal College were merged. It was renamed Guangdong Normal University in 1970 and South China Normal University in 1977. In 1982, it was renamed South China Normal University.As of May 2020, the university has three campuses, namely Guangzhou Shipai, Guangzhou University Town and Foshan Nanhai, covering an area of 3025 mu, with an area of 1.53 million square meters and 4.02 million books. There are 2386 full-time teachers, 25643 full-time undergraduates, 10349 postgraduates, 1211 postdoctoral students, 232 postdoctoral students and 1039 international students.
