Huizhou University, located in the civilized city of Huizhou, is a full-time public undergraduate university in Guangdong Province, a pilot University for undergraduate transformation, a provincial undergraduate university and a provincial master's degree awarding construction unit, the second batch of provincial innovation and entrepreneurship demonstration bases, and a provincial university for establishing a national teacher education innovation experimental zone.Huizhou college was founded in 1946. Its predecessor, Yuexiu middle school, was moved to Fenghu college in Huiyang. Later, it was changed into "Huizhou normal school in Guangdong Province". In December 1978, with the approval of the State Council, it was upgraded to a college and renamed Huiyang normal college. In September 1993, with the approval of Guangdong Provincial People's government, Huizhou University was established on the basis of the joint operation of Huiyang normal college, Huizhou Institute of education and Huizhou Branch of Northwest Textile College. In March 2000, with the approval of the Ministry of education, it was upgraded to an undergraduate university and renamed "Huizhou University".As of July 2019, the college has 16798 full-time students, 18 secondary colleges with 54 undergraduate majors, 835 full-time teachers and a total area of 2500 mu.
