Shenzhen Vocational and technical college is a full-time college at the junior college level, which is in charge of Guangdong Province and organized by Shenzhen Municipal People's government. Founded in 1993, formerly known as Shenzhen higher vocational and technical college, it became more famous in 1997. In 2001, it signed agreements with 129 domestic universities on joint training of master's and doctor's degree students. In 2003, it passed the evaluation of higher vocational talents training by the Ministry of education. In 2009, it became one of the first batch of national model higher vocational colleges. In 2012, it began to recruit undergraduates for the first time. In 2017, it became the second batch of demonstration universities to deepen the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education in China. In October 2019, it will be selected into the Ministry of education and the Ministry of finance's high-level higher vocational school with Chinese characteristics and specialty construction plan (category I).As of August 2019, according to the official website of the college, the college has five campuses: liuxiandong, xilihu, guanlongshan, OCT and Fenghuangshan, and plans to build Shanwei (Shenzhen Shantou Special Cooperation Zone) campus, with a total area of 2.12 million square meters, a building area of 573400 square meters, a total fixed asset value of 2.366 billion yuan, a library collection of 2.612 million paper books, 17 secondary colleges and other teaching units It has 80 majors (including 4 undergraduate majors of joint training program with Shenzhen University), 2380 on-the-job teaching staff and 23000 full-time students.In December 2019, it was listed as the first class of high-level school construction units (Grade A) by the Ministry of education and the Ministry of finance.
