West Yunnan University, located in Linxiang District, Lincang City, Yunnan Province, is the only full-time undergraduate university in Lincang City.The college, formerly known as Lincang teachers' special class opened in 1978, has gone through the school running process of Lincang Institute of education and Lincang normal college. In April 2015, the Ministry of Education approved the establishment of West Yunnan Science and technology Normal College on the basis of Lincang normal college.According to the school's official website in July 2017, the college covers an area of 1084 mu, with a total construction area of 256000 square meters, including 133000 square meters of teaching and research administrative room; the total value of teaching equipment is nearly 100 million yuan; there are 762200 paper books, 206000 e-books, 61 junior colleges and 17 undergraduate majors; there are more than 400 full-time teachers and more than 8700 full-time students.
