Xi'an University of architecture and technology Xi'an Jianda, for short, is jointly built by the people's Government of Shaanxi Province, the Ministry of housing and urban rural development and the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China. It is one of the "eight old schools of architecture" in China, a key university directly under the former Ministry of metallurgical industry, a national "basic capacity building project of universities in the central and western regions", a national "key discipline project with characteristics", a provincial high-level university in Shaanxi Province, and one of the first batch of doctoral programs in China The authorized units of bachelor's degree, master's degree and bachelor's degree are selected into the 111 program, the first batch of national excellent engineer education and training program, the national international science and technology cooperation base, the National Engineering Master's education innovation colleges and universities, and the national construction of high-level university public postgraduate program. It is a university characterized by civil engineering and architecture, environmental and municipal engineering, material metallurgy and other related disciplines, with engineering technology as the main subject and multi-disciplinary coordinated development.The school can be traced back to Beiyang University, which was founded in 1895. In 1956, when the departments of colleges and universities were adjusted for the third time in China, the school was formed by merging the departments (disciplines) of architecture, civil engineering and municipal engineering of the former Northeast Institute of technology, Northwest Institute of technology, Qingdao Institute of technology and Sunan Polytechnic College, which was then known as Xi'an Institute of architecture and engineering. In 1959 and 1963, it was renamed Xi'an Metallurgy Institute and Xi'an metallurgy Architecture Institute. In March 1994, with the approval of the former State Education Commission, it was renamed Xi'an University of architecture and technology. In 2011, the graduate school was established.As of September 2019, Yanta campus, Caotang campus and Huaqing science and Education Industrial Park have a total area of more than 4300 mu; there are 20 colleges and 63 undergraduate majors; there are 9 post doctoral mobile stations, 9 first-class discipline doctoral programs, 26 first-class discipline master programs and 16 master degree categories; there are more than 2800 teaching staff, including more than 1700 full-time teachers, 3 full-time academicians and more than 34000 students.
