Ningxia Polytechnic is located in the Vocational Education Park of Xixia District, Yinchuan City, Ningxia. It is the first National Model Higher Vocational College in the autonomous region, the first batch of modern apprenticeship pilot units in China, and one of the 42 member units of the presidium of the National Joint Conference of principals of Higher Vocational Colleges.The school is formed by the merger of Ningxia radio and Television University, Ningxia heavy industry staff University, Ningxia staff science and Technology College, Ningxia mechanical and technical school and Ningxia Agricultural School. In 2014, with the approval of the people's Government of the autonomous region, Ningxia light industry school and Ningxia Agricultural Reclamation staff secondary vocational school were successively incorporated into the school.As of December 2015, the campus covers an area of 747871 square meters, with 12 training bases, 107.758 million yuan of teaching and research equipment, 368600 paper books, 10 teaching units, 39 Higher Vocational Majors, 544 teaching staff and 6286 full-time students. In December 2019, it was listed as the third type of high-level school construction unit (grade C) by the Ministry of education and the Ministry of finance.
